I think we need to raise the retirement age, not for the people that already nearing —receiving Social Security that are already on it [sic], but raise it gradually over a long period of time for people that are just entering the system.
Some are calling Gov. Bush's comments on raising the retirement age clueless, stupid, callous, perhaps even a sign of how out of touch he is with the working people of this country. This is pure nonsense. Gov. Bush has a long-standing connection to working people and understands their problems. For decades, his butlers and chauffeurs have been an instrumental part of his family and helped define major events. Why, if it weren't for his fellow Hispanic driver, Jose, Gov. Bush might have gotten lost if he had tried to drive his wife to the hospital on his own when she went into labor!
